What are self-destructing instant messages?

You decide how long your instant messages stay in the viewer. You can choose to leave them on your computer and the person that you are IMing anywhere from 5 seconds to 2 hours. Or you can destruct them anytime by clicking the X next to the message.

What happens to the messages when they self-destruct?

Once a message self-destructs there is no record of the message on any computer or server anywhere, they are completely gone.

Can the messages be printed, copied, saved or print screened?

No your messages protected from printing, copying, being saved or print screened.

Does it work with the AOL AIM messenger?

Yes. Download the plug-in by going to www.bigstringim.com/download. Once you download the plug in, you will be able to chat with your AIM buddies as you normally do. When you want to send a buddy a self-destructing message, right click on your buddy, select BigString from the drop down and a new message window will appear so that you can send self-destructing IM's with your buddy.

When using the AIM plug-in, does my buddy need to have it installed also?

No, as long as you have it installed, you can start messaging with your buddy.

Do I need to install the plug-in on all my seperate computers?

The plug-in must be installed on each computer that you are trying to initiate IMs from. Some people use both a work and home computer with AIM, you will need to install the plug-in for both.

Does the plug-in work for AIM on Mac?

BigString is currently developing a plug-in for Mac. Until it is releases you can use BigString's webbased IM.

What Versions of AIM can I use the plug-in?

You can use the plug-in with most of the latest versions of AIM.

Why am I having trouble installing the AIM plug-in?

If you have trouble with the installation of the plug-in click here to update your windows software with the necessary Microsoft files to install and use the plug-in.

How much does BigStringIM cost?

BigString IM is free to signup for and use.

Can anyone IM me?

In order to protect your privacy, you need to approve anyone who wants to add you to their contact list.

Is My Identity Protected when using BigStringIM?
